CONSULTANCY SERVICES

Oolithica Geoscience provides the following interpretive services:

  •  Fieldwork (we have recently undertaken outcrop studies in Pakistan, Albania and Oman studying a variety of clastic and carbonate sediments ranging in age from the Tertiary to the Jurassic)

  •  Diagenetic modelling using advanced petrographic techniques

  •  Reservoir quality modelling

  •  Specialised training courses (including field seminars)

  •  Integrated stratigraphic analysis of Mesozoic and Tertiary Tethyan carbonates (benthic foraminifera, calcareous algae, calcareous dinocysts, stromatoporoids, calpionellids)

    Dasyclad wackestone with nice specimens of Trinocladus perplexus (?Upper Jurassic - Lower Eocene). Field of view 2.5mm.

ANALYTICAL SERVICES

We offer the following analytical services:

  •  Sedimentological core logging

  •  Fracture core logging

  •  Petrographic thin section preparation

  •  Thin section petrography (qualitative or semi-quantitative)

  •  Cathodoluminescence

  •  Fluorescence petrography

  •  Scanning electron micrography (including optional pore cast analysis)

  •  X-ray diffraction (whole rock and clay fraction)

  •  Fluid inclusion analysis (microthermometry, salinity and major ion determination)

  •  Heavy mineral analysis

  •  Apatite fission track analysis

  •  Isotopic analyses (Carbon, oxygen, sulphur and strontium isotopes; K/Ar dating; ICP-MS)

  •  Elemental analyses (ICP-MS, ICP-AES)
